OVUM – A new, prestigious quarter for the district is being created in the trendy western Cologne neighborhood of Braunsfeld.

The office and hotel campus, which will be comple­men­ted by restaur­ants and retail space, is partic­u­larly notable for its high-quality archi­tec­tural concept. It’s all in the mix

The project involves the construc­tion of a new four-part build­ing complex with a two-story under­ground car park. The site is located in the western Cologne district of Braunsfeld, between high-quality resid­en­tial areas in the south and commer­cial struc­tures in the north.

Public space with a high quality of life

A neigh­bor­hood is being built on the approx­im­ately 12,000 mÂČ site, which combines office, hotel, restaur­ant, and retail uses. The individual build­ings are arranged around a strik­ing oval-shaped public square, which will enliven the surround­ing area even outside office hours thanks to the mix of uses.

In a good neighborhood

The build­ing ensemble creates a street space with a continu­ous façade along Stolberger Straße and Eupener Straße, as well as attract­ive spatial sequences. The five- to six-story clinker-brick build­ings rise above a 5.75-meter-high entrance base consist­ing of high-quality exposed concrete arches. The design creates attract­ive spatial sequences: from the guided path between the build­ings to an opening oval plaza.
