TESTA – On the outskirts of Berlin, right next to the new BER airport, our vision for sustainable and humane working is taking shape.

Digital meets haptic, brick meets nature: spacious, smart office spaces in a stimu­lat­ing and relaxed envir­on­ment of forest and heath create a unique working envir­on­ment. An urban quarter with three office build­ings and a hotel complex surround­ing a green, central square with its own restaur­ants, gym, and local amenit­ies.

TESTA, Latin for “the brick,”

is the namesake and symbol of our vision for sustain­able and humane construc­tion. In the area between BER and the lively south­east of Berlin, the campus of the future is being created from over a million recycled bricks. From the smallest unit, the individual brick, to air condi­tion­ing, water manage­ment, and the integ­ra­tion of electric mobil­ity, TESTA sets stand­ards and shows what contem­por­ary archi­tec­ture can achieve.

The idea of Sustainability

The concept of sustain­ab­il­ity is not only reflec­ted in the choice of build­ing mater­i­als and the use of state-of-the-art build­ing techno­logy, but is also part of the design program. The calm perfor­ated façade, inter­spersed with strik­ing round arches, both frames and contrasts the outdoor areas, which were designed in refer­ence to the heath­lands of Brandenburg. This combin­a­tion of archi­tec­ture and nature creates an aesthetic that is in keeping with the spirit of the times, yet timeless, thus laying the found­a­tion for a long and sustain­able cycle of use.

Sustainable society. Workspace for a greater good.

The holistic concept of TESTA contin­ues in the interior. Raw, robust surfaces and versat­ile areas that can be adapted to the require­ments of an individu­al­ized working envir­on­ment form the basis for long-lasting appeal and durab­il­ity. As a sign of special appre­ci­ation, we have created a monument to the TESTA idea: in a central location stands a mirrored cuboid in the propor­tions of a brick. This not only reflects extern­ally what TESTA stands for – the symbi­osis of nature and archi­tec­ture. On 60 square meters, resid­ents and visit­ors will find selec­ted products that reflect the spirit of TESTA and the region.
